1.   Recognise factors which affect

      learning

 

  1.1    Identify own barriers / incentives to learning, past and present

2.   Understand the importance of

      communication skills for self and

      child

 

2.1    Identify all communication skills e.g. reading, writing, speaking and

         listening, body language, eye contact (Social communication skills)

2.2    Produce a diary of communication skills used over a given period of

         time

 

3.  Recognise the role of the parent/carer

     as the first educator

 

3.1    Identify ways in which a parent/carer can have the role of an educator

3.2    Relate the role of parent/carer as an educator to own past

         experiences

 

4.  Recognise opportunities to develop

     communication skills in children

 

4.1    Produce at least 3 activities which promote communication skills in a

        child e.g. picture book, matching game, turn-taking games

 

5.  Recognise appropriate reading

     material for children

 

5.1    Identify appropriate reading material for a child
